Lewis & Clark College from Portland, Oregon have a lovely group of 19-22 year old American university students travelling to Brisbane with their professor for six weeks as part of their academic course abroad.
While they are here, they will be volunteering at various organisations and we are seeking homestays located close to where they will volunteer. A large part of their program is the opportunity to meet and live with Australian families. We are reaching out to any hosts here who would be interested and welcome the opportunity for this exchange.
They will be arriving in Brisbane on 24 May and departing on 4 July 2026
The group have a busy schedule and will either be attending lectures in South Brisbane or attending their volunteering location all week Mon-Fri full days. They will travel away for group excursions on most weekends. The fee paid for the homestay includes a private bedroom, breakfast and lunch provisions and an evening meal with you and your family - if it’s possible and schedules allow.
In particular, we are seeking hosts for a few female students who are:
- located in Oxley near the train (for volunteering at Wacol). Pescatarian diet.
- located at Virginia near the train (for volunteering at Geebung). Loves animals!
-A number who are located with good transport connections to city and Valley.
- One halal household, transport connections to West End.
Please get in touch if you are interested and available to host, and I can provide more details.
Kind regards,
Nat
